Northbound Lanes Open Ahead of Schedule on the Florida Turnpike Widening Project

Jr. Davis Construction is proud to announce a major milestone on the Turnpike Widening from SR 50 to Minneola project. Early this morning, our team successfully opened two additional northbound lanes, bringing the total to four lanes now open and available for the traveling public.

This accomplishment represents not only a significant step forward in the project’s progress, but also a strong reflection of the dedication and expertise of the JDC team. The lane opening was achieved ahead of our internal schedule and more than a year ahead of the contract schedule. By accelerating delivery, the team is helping ease congestion and improve mobility across one of Central Florida’s most heavily traveled corridors.

A Commitment to Early Mobility and Public Benefit

In partnership with Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise, JDC has remained committed to delivering critical roadway improvements as early as possible. Opening lanes to beneficial use has been a key goal of the project, offering drivers earlier access to improved capacity and travel flow.

The early completion of the northbound lanes reflects the team’s coordinated planning, strong communication, and commitment to innovative field execution. From roadway reconstruction and bridge work to drainage improvements and traffic operations, every discipline involved has played a vital role in reaching this milestone.

Teamwork That Drives Success

We extend our sincere appreciation to our JDC crews, subcontractors, and material suppliers whose hard work and collaboration have pushed the project forward. Their commitment to quality, safety, and schedule excellence continues to make the Turnpike Widening a standout success.

What’s Next

Progress continues on the southbound side of the corridor, and drivers can expect southbound lanes to open very soon, bringing the project even closer to delivering full capacity improvements.

JDC is honored to help advance Florida’s infrastructure and support mobility for residents, visitors, and businesses throughout the region. We look forward to sharing additional milestones as the project continues to move toward completion.
