Florida’s Turnpike Progresses in Osceola County: 3-Mile Traffic Shift Completed on Nolte Design-Build Project
February 2026
OSCEOLA COUNTY, FL — Jr. Davis Construction has completed a 3-mile southbound traffic shift on Florida’s Turnpike as part of the Turnpike & Nolte Design-Build project.
Earlier this month, crews relocated the southbound alignment from Neptune Road to south of Clay Whaley Road without lane reductions to the traveling public. Maintaining full mobility during the shift allows construction to advance while minimizing disruption to motorists.
This milestone positions the project to continue delivering long-term congestion relief at the Clay Whaley interchange and improving traffic flow in North Osceola County.
Crews will now focus on bridge construction for the new Nolte interchange and development of the northbound alignment to further alleviate congestion and enhance long-term capacity along this critical corridor.
The Turnpike & Nolte Design-Build project represents a significant infrastructure investment in Central Florida, strengthening mobility and supporting continued regional growth.
